Maelstroms Wake asked:
I think stabilizing the Housing Market with the 1st bail-outs money would have been the best thing to do. I also think building Nuclear plants would have been a big ‘job creator’ and an ‘GREEN energy’ solution. I also feel that his plan to cut tax on Businesses would have helped in this struggling economy, so why did we not elect that guy again?

hell my dog crapping in my yard is better approach then what obama is doing
No better. Did you read his plan when he was running? It was almost identical.
Because no one liked the rest of Mc Cains message and viewpoints.
Change.
Change.
Pocket change.
Sometimes a big spender looks mighty good!
Now if you need anything (including the kitchen sink like that lady in Florida) ask Barry, Barry the spending fairy.
Absolutely
However, I doubt if you could come up with a worse approach than this spending bill the democrats rammed though
No.
McCain would have taken no approach because remember “the fundamentals of the economy are strong” in his mind.
His lack of understanding about the economy would lead him to believe that everything was fine, as the economy of the country sunk.
I do- McCain was addressing the root cause to the problem. Obama is using the problem to boost his agenda for himself. Spending is just a ridiculous answer, especially $787 billion dollars of it. Foreclosures are still occurring on a steady pace and the banks don’t care- they were given money to do nothing. Predatory lenders got away with all of it and made millions if not billions- it is criminal. . . Barney Frank should be indited…
McCain warned and pleaded with the government to monitor the lending market for bad mortgages because he said this would happen, and it has. At the time a few years ago when he recommended we monitor the loans, he was laughed at. Now, we can see he was obviusly right on target.
Flying planes over cities throwing out stacks of money would be better than Obama’s plan.I see very little in it that helps anyone or anything.Of course that’s not the job of the Government anyway.
This whole “Stimulus Bill” is nothing but a huge spending spree on stuff the Democrat Party wanted. It damn near undoes the Welfare Reforms under Clinton,so look forward to increasing Welfare rolls.I guess we can go back to the days of “Work hard,Millions on Welfare depend on you”
This plan is about as likely to help,as maxing all your Credit Cards is to help you get Richer.
AD
My 12 yr old daughter had a better plan:
Legalize pot–tax it heavily–employ unskilled welfare types to grow it and tend fields–and use the revenue from it to bail us out rather than line attorneys, judges, and cops pockets with the money from prisons, fines, and attorney fees to prosecute….Excellent revenue generator without taxing us in fairly–like obama is doing now with senators and house’s blind eye to it.
And yes: McCAin actually would have left the PRIVATE SECTOR alone–and its Communism for mr. o-to interfere with my business…what next: how many kids I can have–LIKE CHINA?
first point, Nuclear plants were a big dream in the late 60’s and early 70’s. however after a few “accidents”. it has really decreased. so John McCain’s nuclear energy issue is an old one that has been tried and failed.
As far as the housing market, the home owners are hurting because they are losing jobs, and also because of sub prime interest rates that have shot up to 8 and 9%. so what is the solution? do we help them pay it? do we refinance, if we refinance, the banks lose money and they are already crying “broke” . so it is not an easy solution. all of the homeowners are not the sub prime loans, there are lots of legitimate homeowners that have lost their jobs and just can’t afford to pay.
small business cuts may help temporarily, but the problem for small business is that they are losing business because the customers are losing their jobs. they have closed Nortel communications near where I live, and guess what, all of the small restaurants in the area are going out of business, the small company that did the cleaning, gone out of business, the people that filled the candy and soda machines for the company, laid off, so it is very far reaching, and not just an easy solution. John McCain would be having a hard issue to deal with also, so by saying we should have elected him doesn’t mean that he would be solving the issue. he may be doing worst,
Because Obama had everyone that voted for him brainwashed that the current economic situation is the fault of George Bush… We know that of course he worked hard for 8 years trying to repair the damage left to him by Clinton… The last 2 years of course were the worst because of the House and Senate being stacked against him.
I called this a monumental mistake before the election… I’m sorry to see I was right.
Tax cuts are nothing but licking the boots of the wealthy.
I wish people would quit brown nosing the bastards and hold them accountable for the demise of America.
Tax cuts give money to the people we loathe.
Why would you do that?
Oh yea, I remember republicans loathe the poor…
We didn’t elect him because he is a republican.
It would be like getting a Caveman to do brain surgery.
This is a social problem. McCain was not very social.
The fix to the housing market does not exist.
Greasy bastards building $60k houses and selling them for $240k is stupid. Selling and making a commission on a signature is retarded.
That $24 thousand dollars some republican wife robbed from the new homeowner is the problem.
All the people involved except the actual buyer are the problem.
greedy republican Capitalists have destroyed my country.
Please remove every greedy right wing poophead from my America.
They are the problem. America is not for them to sell and profit.
mccain’s “approach to helping our economy” is right out there with his “secret plan” to capture bin laden (remember john bring that one up during the debates?)
