There are a lot of environmental, safety and security concerns regarding nuclear energy. Bio fuel, however does not have to made from corn and corn is, in fact, a rather poor source for bio fuel. It has been the most common simply because of government subsidies to the agriculture industry. There are other crops that are less labor intensive, and more productive. It is these crops that we need to explore for bio fuel and get it out of the hands of the agricultural lobby.

The goal is not energy independence. The goal is a socialist worker paradise.

My objection to nuclear energy is the massive costs. The real reason this form of energy is not used is because the private sector is unwilling to pony up the billions for such a risky technology. Wall street wants to socialize the start up and privatize the profit.Bio fuel technology is in its infancy, an probably not the answer. T Boone’s idea of natural gas as a bridge fuel plus hybrid technology until the hydrogen economy gets started is more realistic.
Obama has his plans in the works, much has to be done to repair the damage of having two oil men in the White House for the last 8 years.

We have already seen the down side of his plan(?) in Fla. Our power company, knowing they can not afford to wait for affordable Clean Coal technology and the associated Emission PERMITS coming down the road, have just raised utility rates 25%!!!!!!! This, in large part is due to their decision to build Nuclear instead of staying with less expensive resources. They just signed a multi billion dollar contract necessary to prepare for the start of construction on their Nuclear plant. Of course, we won’t see any power from this plant for 10-20 yrs!! Of course, using corn was a stupid idea!! Using our food and feed supply to make energy? Just plain STUPID!!

nuclear energy is explosive and dangerous and radioactive and once its harnessed you have waste you need to store it somewhere. corn, not so much.
