Any novel ways of generating green electricity?

It will probably be necessary in the future to be more resourceful in our search for renewable energy. A couple of ideas I had was that large office buildings with many floors could add a small compressable footplate on each step in the building that generates electricity each time someone stands on it…… or a mat that you lay over your mattress that converts body heat to electricity.

They sound mad, but if thousands of people used them then it would surely make a diffence.

ANY IDEAS?
Hey V-Man, i was thinking of the very same thin myself; did you know that the wind turbines built near Norwich (UK) have to be stopped at night because the noise disturbs prisoners in the local prison? Your Idea would fit in there perfectly!!

Another Idea would be to fit excersise bikes to the grid in schools: Physical Ed, detention etc could be useful at last…. and it would keep childhood obesety in check!!!!

Come the revololution brother, you can be in my government.

    Happily yes—

We have huge prison populations, I say we equip them with treadmills that drive power generators. Working in series, they would produce high voltage, and in parallel high curent. The only problem is that those who normally go to prison tend to be lazy, seeking the easy way out. So, the lazy way to keep from having to do all that work is not commit crimes, so that they would not have to do the work.

solar revolution is a book about that

  4. Be objective, tell it like it is says:

Have all the health clubs and YMCAs in the world to connect their Treadmills, exercise bikes to the power grid to help generate energy. Have every home have at least 3 solar panels on their roof and a wind mill in the yard and have them connected to the power grid to generate energy.
