Field Hockey Girl asked:
Well I’m starting high school next week, and I have my field hockey practice every day after school for the next two months. The school does have a study program in between the sport and class, so I can stay after school and then go to my practice after, instead of having to go home and then come be driven back to the school. Well anyway, my problem is what snack would give me enough energy and taste really good at the same time w/e any use of a a microwave or fridge or what, that I could eat during that study time. I really hope someone can help me, and just a memo about the snack, I’m a really picky eater, and despise the taste of green vegis, and not much of a meat eater (tho some). So can someone please help me out by giving suggestions for a snack other than a sandwich and stuff? Thanks a lot.

try a granola bar
Try those 100 calorie snack packs.
Fruit - cut oranges mixed with cut apples will stop apples from browning
Yogurt - I like Danone’s new Activia it’s sweet and healthy
Granola bars
Fruit bars (like fruit to go by sunripe)
Cheese and crackers
Trail mix (nuts are high in protein and energy).
Personally. I’d go for a peanut butter sandwich and a lot of gatorade… But It’s up to you… There is allways a possiablility of packing a sandwich to take there…
Bananas are a great snack before playing a sport because of the potassium. It helps replenish it when you lose some through lots of sweating. It also helps keep your legs from cramping as a result of playing a sport.
gummy bears! a ton of my friends are cross country players and their coaches want them to eat gummy bears before running because they give just the right amount of sugar and are fat- free ( not to mention delicious!).
i have the same thing going on with me. i am notoriously known on the field hockey time as the girl who always has food. in my locker i keep several bags of goldfish, applesauce, dried mangos, chex mix/ gardetos stuff, and other not super bad for you stuff.
Dried fruit, Balance bars, lots of water.
